Wild Indigo Botanical Hydrosols
Rose hydrosol is more than something that smells lovely. Distilled rose water has a long dermatologic tradition for calming, refreshing and supporting sensitive or irritated-looking skin, while carrying a much gentler concentration of aromatic plant compounds than rose essential oil.
Ingredients
Rosa damascena flower water. Size: 4 fl oz / 118 mL.
Skin Benefits
Soothing + anti-inflammatory potential. Rose preparations have shown anti-inflammatory activity in laboratory and preclinical research, and rose water is traditionally used to calm redness and irritation. Human clinical evidence for hydrosol specifically is still limited.
Antioxidant plant compounds. Rosa damascena contains phenolic compounds with antioxidant activity. A hydrosol carries a lighter water-soluble and volatile fraction of the plant, so it is gentler than concentrated extracts or essential oil.
Light hydration. As a water-based mist, rose hydrosol can increase surface hydration temporarily and works well under oils, serums or moisturizers when skin feels dry or tight.
Gentler aromatic skincare. Because a hydrosol is far less concentrated than an essential oil, it offers the botanical aroma and some plant constituents with a lower irritation burden for many people.
🌹 How to Use
Mist lightly onto clean skin as a facial toner or cooling botanical refresh. Follow with moisturizer or facial oil if desired. It may also be used as a body, linen or personal-space mist. Avoid direct contact with eyes.
