The Full Cold Moon Sound Bath

Our one-hour sound bath takes place indoors at Knob N’ Wood Retreat Center. Cat of Cat & Owl Alchemy and Elise Dixie Jane create the sound experience together, with optional Reiki from Kimberly Krueger.

Cat · violin + singing bowls

Cat brings her violin, singing bowls, and sound-practitioner experience into our shared sound field.

Elise · crystal bowls + layered sound

Elise centers crystal singing bowls, weaving in gong, drum washing, crystal harp, rattles, and looping textures that build, repeat, and dissolve through the room.

Kimberly · optional Reiki

Kimberly offers Reiki to guests who choose to receive it. Reiki and touch are always consent-based. You may decline or change your mind without explanation.

There is no expectation that you perform relaxation. Slowing down may feel peaceful, emotional, restless, tender, spacious, or unfamiliar. You may sigh, cough, cry, sit up, change positions, drink water, step away, or simply notice what your body needs.

Quiet participation is welcome. You do not have to feel, heal, share, or respond in any particular way.

Cat’s Thistle and Thread Society · Moon-made magic

Craft now Moon over it later

For Cat, this gathering is equal parts sound bath and her Thistle and Thread Society: a holiday evening for making, gathering, and sharing a little lunar magic in commUnity.

🌕 Make your own full moon on a round canvas. Use glue to shape textured lunar craters, then add mica powder, glitter, herbs, and dried florals from Wild Indigo. Go earthy, botanical, luminous, or gloriously glitter-witched.

No art experience needed. Follow your intuition and bring home a moon of your own. A little lunar-tic creativity is encouraged.

Chef Elise Dixie Jane · Season’s eatings

Kitchen witchery with all the trimmings

Wild Indigo’s Chef Elise Dixie Jane is serving up the holiday-inspired food. The table is part of the gathering: a place to linger after sound, taste the season, and meet the person beside you.

A Yule log you can eat

Our edible Yule log roll is a confirmed part of the holiday spread, ready to share with the gathering. One log warms the masonry heater; this one belongs on your plate. Let the good times roll.

A holiday-inspired spread

Alongside the Yule log roll, Elise will prepare other holiday-inspired foods in the spirit of the many traditions our commUnity carries. The remaining dishes are still being developed, and the final menu will be added here as it is confirmed.

The holiday table opens as part of the festivities after sound, from 7:30 PM.

Dietary care before you arrive

Please email us about allergies, vegan or vegetarian needs, gluten-free needs, or other dietary requirements so we can confirm what the menu and kitchen can support. Specific preparation and cross-contact needs must be discussed in advance; a holiday theme does not imply kosher, halal, or allergen-free preparation.

The outdoor afterglow · weather permitting

Follow the spiral · Find the fire

Labyrinth + bonfire hangouts

Walk our spiral labyrinth with its mandala at your own pace, pause under the winter sky, or gather around an outdoor bonfire pit for conversation and commUnity. No particular belief or intention is required.

May the frost be with you

🐻‍❄️ Feeling brrr-ave? We’ll close with an optional polar bear plunge in Princess Leia’s pond. Staying warm and cheering from shore is equally welcome.

The plunge depends on weather, pond conditions, and safe access and may change or be canceled. Follow host guidance and never enter alone.

Come solo · come together

No plus-one required

You do not need a friend, partner, or built-in person to book your place. Come solo. We’ll be glad you did.

Your own merry little evening

The arrival hour, holiday food, moon-making, labyrinth, and fireside hangout offer natural ways to meet people without turning the evening into networking or forced sharing. Chat, create alongside someone, or settle in quietly. There is no correct amount of socializing.

The holidays can hold a lot

Maybe you make the holiday magic for everyone else. Maybe the season feels lonely, complicated, grief-filled, or overstimulating. You do not have to arrive cheerful or pretend everything is sparkling to spend the evening with us.

All faiths, spiritual paths, and those who follow none are welcome. No sound bath experience is needed.

Your version of festive belongs here, whether it jingles, sparkles, swooshes, or comes with slippers. There is no such thing as too much. We love too much here at Wild Indigo.

Keep comfort in your spellbook: choose clothes you can rest in, and bring any personal blanket, pillow, or eye mask your ticket setup does not include. About Knob N’ Wood Retreat Center

Deck the halls

🕯️ Tucked into Wild Indigo’s forest, Knob N’ Wood is an artisan-built strawbale-and-cob Retreat Center where the building itself is part of the art. Timber beams carry the forest indoors, mica-flecked earth walls catch the light, stained glass spills color, and hand-painted cob brings moons, woodland creatures, and celestial details into the walls.

For this gathering, we’re turning up the holiday magic. Holiday decor will fill the Retreat Center, with Wild Indigo’s ritual holiday-themed candles and lunar phase candles glowing throughout the space. The masonry heater will hold our burning Yule log as we settle in for a sound bath with all the cozy trimmings.

Look closely and you’ll find handmade tile, stained-glass mosaics, reclaimed wood, and sustainable art woven into the rooms. Forest-facing windows, the library sound space, and the connected living and dining areas make this a place to wander with your eyes as well as your feet. Passive-solar design and natural-building craft meet Wild Indigo’s artsy fartsy heart.

A whole latke love · A world of light

Let’s gelt together

Love you a latke

Elise is Jewish and also celebrates Christmas, so this holiday gathering has more than one kind of sparkle. Come for a little Yule cheer, a whole latke love, and the pleasure of gathering around light, food, art, and music. No dreidel experience required.

We honor Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Yule, the winter solstice, and the many traditions our guests carry. Each has its own history, calendar, and meaning. Our December 23 gathering celebrates the Full Cold Moon and solstice season while welcoming that wider world of light.

Seven principles worth reflecting on

Elise holds deep respect for Kwanzaa’s Nguzo Saba, the Seven Principles, rooted in African and African American culture. They offer a meaningful invitation to reflect on how we live, create, and care for one another.

  • Umoja: Unity
  • Kujichagulia: Self-determination
  • Ujima: Collective work and responsibility
  • Ujamaa: Cooperative economics
  • Nia: Purpose
  • Kuumba: Creativity
  • Imani: Faith

Here at Wild Indigo, these principles invite us to consider our own responsibilities to commUnity, creative work, and the people who make our gatherings possible.

Cat Moeller-Cunanan · Cat & Owl Alchemy

Catherine “Cat” Moeller-Cunanan is a musician, educator, sound practitioner, and founder of Cat & Owl Alchemy in New Albany, Indiana. A lifelong musician, she began playing guitar at the age of four under the guidance of her father before pursuing classical violin training. Throughout her career, she has performed in a wide range of musical settings, from symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles to electric violin and rock performances.

Cat earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ball State University, along with two master’s degrees from Indiana University in Secondary Education and Educational Leadership. She also holds a Gifted and Talented certification from Western Kentucky University. After nearly 30 years as a public school orchestra director, she retired from education in 2025 to devote herself full-time to helping others through music and sound.

About a decade ago, Cat discovered the work of Tom Kenyon, whose integration of music, science, and healing inspired her to explore the therapeutic potential of sound. She earned professional sound-practitioner certification through the VSTA and later studied Vibroacoustic Therapy with Kate Kunkle of Costa Rica. To her knowledge, she is the only practitioner in Southern Indiana formally trained in this specialized modality.

Cat founded Cat & Owl Alchemy to create spaces where sound, intention, and commUnity come together to support relaxation, restoration, and personal well-being. She offers private sound and vibroacoustic sessions, commUnity sound baths, retreats, corporate wellness experiences, and educational programs. She currently facilitates monthly sound baths beneath the historic dome of the Parthenon in New Albany.

In addition to her healing work, Cat is expanding Cat & Owl Alchemy with the opening of Southern Indiana’s first plant-based apothecary refillery, providing environmentally conscious refill products that reduce single-use plastic while supporting healthier homes and a healthier planet.

Whether performing music, facilitating sound experiences, or educating others, Cat’s work is rooted in one guiding belief: that music has the extraordinary ability to connect, comfort, and transform lives.

Every attendee must complete the participant form before the gathering.

Bring the light · follow the glow

Your grand after-dark arrival

A driveway dressed in light

🕯️ You’ll be arriving after dark, so we’ll have the entire driveway lit with lights to help guide your way into the festivities. If you’re parking in an upper lot, follow the glow down the driveway to Knob N’ Wood Retreat Center.

Please be parked and settled before sound begins.

Andrew, your guiding light

Our bottom lot holds approximately 7–9 vehicles. Once it fills, Elise’s husband Andrew will be at the upper lots directing guests where to park and where to go.

He’ll also offer flashlights and headlamps for anyone who wants to join the fun of bringing the light and welcoming its return. A little solstice symbolism, a little practical magic: helping you feel safe and comfortable as you walk down the driveway to join the festivities.

Wear sturdy shoes and bring warm layers for the walk. If you need the closest parking or help planning your arrival, please email us about dietary, sensory, mobility, or other access needs before the gathering.
