History
Greetings! Elise Dixie Jane here. A mouthful, I know. With 17 years of being a small business owner under my belt, I am confident in the ability to communicate and serve up a cup of 'meeting you where you are' with each guest experience.
My educational background includes but is not limited to; Clinical Herbalism, Farming, Wildlife Conservation, Nature Art, Reiki, Bee Stewardship, and designing gardens of all kinds!
As a Clinical Herbalist, I am in charge of growing, harvesting, drying, processing, and brewing 60 + of the herbs found in our homegrown Apothecary.
How did I get into this quirky field, you may or may not be asking?
From age 4 year, I worked towards the goal of being an Olympian and Professional Soccer Player. After losing that dream to a career-ending injury, I was devastated and lost. My grandmother Dixie, a multi-media artist and Orchid judge, suggested selling the art and herbal products I made for loved ones gifts.
In 2009, I showcased as Elise's Pieces at a local craft festival, and never looked back. At that time, handpainting Wine🍷 Champagne glasses and making crystal jewelry were my bread and butter. While I was no Frida, being well-versed in having fun and being damn good at it paid the bills. Since, our small business evolved to the name of Free Spirit Delicacies, and is now Wild Indigo Forest Farm. I have focused on traveling to Art + Yoga Events and Festivals with our homegrown Herbal Potions and Nature Art.
Now, you can find me practicing healthy Forestry on our 111 acres as we clean up an overgrown woodland, farm construction, planting native, building gardens, supporting local and handmade for our business, making art, hiring artists, interior design through up-cycling, diy projects, attempting to run social media, responding to emails, navigating non-stop contractors, trying to fix our never-ending problematic solar system, holding the land that chose us with reverence and deep appreciation.
Thanks for stopping by 🤙🏽
Rooted in the philosophy of treatment-free natural beekeeping, my focus lies in fostering the vitality of bee colonies and their interconnected ecosystem. Without resorting to chemical interventions, I employ natural methods to enhance bee health, allowing robust colonies to naturally yield surplus products for communal sharing.

And then we have Kimberly Elizabeth. My human mother. During the 80's, Kimberly acted as an Herbalist, Essential Oil Practitioner, and Ayurvedic Specialist. In 1989, the FDA shut Kimberly down for making health claims about garlic - What? The government shutting down Ayurvedic claims, the oldest Health system on Spaceship Earth. No way!
In 1990, Kimberly graduated from Louisville School of Massage - Advanced Massage Therapeutics and began practicing Reiki on her newborn (me)! For the last 36 years, Kimberly has passionately practiced Therapeutic Massage - with a focus on the bodies Fascia through Lymphatic Drainage, Shirodhara, Craniosacral, Reflexology, and Reiki.
You can catch Kimberly in our Healing Studio on the farm, at an Art Festival or Farmers Market in the Wild Indigo Forest Farm + Wild Indigo Aura 🌈 Photography + Videography booth.
