Access Is Part of Stewardship
Our vision for Wild Indigo reaches beyond caring for the forest itself. We are working toward establishing a nonprofit arm dedicated to helping more people experience, learn from, and belong in the natural world.
Through retreat scholarships, forest-school and nature-based programming for all ages, accessible experiences for people with disabilities, and opportunities for individuals and families facing financial or practical barriers to outdoor access, we hope to make this land a place that is protected not only from harm, but opened thoughtfully for connection.
Because stewardship is also about who gets to experience what we are working so hard to preserve.
Wild Indigo Can Be a Day — or a Destination
Sleep among the trees, gather around the table, browse the homegrown apothecary, or plan something entirely your own.
The Land as a Living Classroom
Medicinal herbs, campsites, the labyrinth, pond, apiary, and forest orchard are woven into how this place is tended, shared, and taught from.
A Wider Web of Care
Stewardship does not stop at the property line. Wild Indigo gives back to local organizations supporting disabled people, refugees, LGBTQIA+ people, domestic violence survivors, unhoused neighbors, and people who cannot afford fresh food.
Through partnerships with One Tree Planted, United Plant Savers, and Rainforest Action Network, and through the choices we make around artists, growers, practitioners, habitat, pollinators, and wildlife, we try to let every retreat, gathering, purchase, and partnership strengthen something beyond itself.
For us, care for people and care for the living world belong in the same sentence.
