We Built Our Own Aura Camera

This project has been a long time coming.

For nearly a year, my husband and I quietly worked on building our own Aura Camera. I brought the vision, curiosity, and slightly wild ideas; he brought the brain of a software developer, engineer, and systems architect. Together, we began creating both the camera experience and the software behind the reading.

This is Wild Indigo’s own custom-built Aura Camera and Aura RX system, created in-house rather than purchased as an off-the-shelf aura photography platform.

Then life moved. We put the project down.

For a while, I thought I would move forward with another aura photography business instead. When that path ultimately didn’t work out, it would have been easy to abandon the vision altogether.

But one of my long-term goals has been a pretty radical act of self-love: when other people don’t show up, disappear, or a path falls away, I don’t want to give up on the dream with it. I want to find a way to take action toward that dream anyway.

So we picked our project back up.

We returned to the code, the camera, the experiments, the color, and the question that started all of this in the first place:

What if an aura portrait could give you more than a beautiful photograph?

That question became Aura RX, Wild Indigo’s full-spectrum aura reading.

Rather than reducing your portrait to one dominant color or a handful of generic meanings, your Aura RX explores the spectrum showing up together: dominant and supporting colors, their relationships, placement, intensity, recurring patterns, and the energetic qualities they may invite you to reflect on.

And then we go beyond interpretation.

If there are qualities you want to welcome more fully into your life, perhaps grounding, creativity, confidence, softness, connection, expression, rest, or a little more fire, your Aura RX explores ways to intentionally cultivate them through color, environment, creativity, time in nature, movement, ritual, sensory practices, and everyday choices.

The camera captures a moment. Aura RX asks what you want to grow from it.

🌈 Part technology. Part color language. Part self-reflection. Part husband-and-wife rabbit hole that we refused to leave unfinished.

And, perhaps most importantly, proof that sometimes the path closing in front of you is simply an invitation to build your own.
