Hummingbird Haven
A wood cabin for guests who want forest mornings, private indoor space, collected art, and the practical comforts of a real kitchen and bath.
We will reopen Hummingbird Haven for our spring season in March. Sign up for our newsletter to be among the first to know when the calendar opens again. In the meantime, you can still experience Wild Indigo through retreat stays, gatherings, and forest camping.
Sleep & Settle In
Hummingbird Haven sleeps up to four guests in its two queen beds: a queen Sleep Number adjustable bed in the open bedroom on the open-floor-plan main level and a second queen in the cathedral loft with an exceptionally comfortable Avocado mattress. For groups of five or six, a raised queen air mattress can accommodate up to two additional guests; additional guest rates apply for guests five and six. Repurposed barn wood, forest views, collected art, an antique French wardrobe, books, and one very large Stargazer Lily painting make it feel decidedly unlike a generic rental.
Kitchen & Morning Rituals
A refrigerator, freezer, oven, stovetop, microwave, sink, and Breville espresso machine give you room to cook, make coffee slowly, and settle into the morning on your own schedule.
Tiny but Mighty Bath
The private bathroom includes a standing shower with an approximately one-inch step, safety bars, toilet, and sink.
Take It Outside
When weather cooperates, wander toward Princess Leia's Pond, float, use one of our SUP Yoga Boards, claim a hammock, or simply disappear into green for a while.
Hummingbird Haven's porch opens straight into the forest.
Camp With Us
Book Your Forest Stay
Choose your dates for regular tent or RV / vehicle camping at Wild Indigo. Regular tent camping is $33 per night; tent camping with a vehicle at the site is $44 per night; RV / vehicle camping is $55 per night.
Free 80-quart porch cooler: Camping guests are welcome to use the large cooler on the porch. Bring your ice and keep food and drinks chilled here, so you can leave your own cooler at home and skip carrying it into the forest.
Portable cooler rental: A handheld cooler is also available to rent for taking along to camp. Ask us before your visit about availability and rental details.
For Our Camping Guests
Arrival, Unloading & Parking
If your campsite is below the upper ridge, you’re welcome to park temporarily beside Knob ’N Wood Retreat Center while you unload your vehicle and set up camp. Our main driveway area is small, so please leave this space clear once you’re settled so vehicles have room to turn around.
After unloading and setting up, please move your vehicle to the half-moon-shaped parking area at the top of the driveway for the remainder of your stay. It’s directly across from you as you turn into the driveway, just below and to the left of the Wild Indigo property sign.
Guests staying at Luna’s Meadow for Stargazing or Forest Portal can unload at the top of the ridge directly at their campsites.
