Wild Indigo Herbal Elixirs

A concentrated plant-based blend built around warming roots, soothing mucilage, bitter herbs and traditional joint & movement allies. We keep the plant tradition and the research context side by side rather than pretending every herb has been studied in the same way.

Ingredients

Brandy, marshmallow root, turmeric, ginger, devil’s claw, papaya leaf, butcher’s broom, slippery elm bark and black walnut hull.

Herbal Tradition & Research Notes

Marshmallow root · demulcent tradition. Traditionally used to coat and soothe irritated throat and digestive tissues. Its characteristic action comes from the root’s high mucilage content.

Turmeric · joint research. Standardized turmeric and curcumin preparations have been studied for knee osteoarthritis pain, stiffness and mobility. Results vary by dose, formulation and bioavailability.

Ginger · nausea, menstrual and joint research. Human studies have examined ginger for pregnancy-related nausea, menstrual cramps and osteoarthritis symptoms. Evidence differs by preparation and dose.

Devil’s claw · musculoskeletal research. Clinical trials and reviews have examined devil’s claw preparations in osteoarthritis and low-back pain, especially standardized preparations that provide measured harpagosides.

Papaya leaf · digestive bitter tradition. Traditionally used in digestive preparations. Strong human evidence for pain or inflammatory conditions is limited.

Butcher’s broom · circulation research. Standardized butcher’s broom preparations have been studied for symptoms associated with chronic venous insufficiency, including leg heaviness and swelling.

Slippery elm · demulcent tradition. Rich in mucilage and traditionally used for irritated gastrointestinal tissues. Human clinical research remains limited.

Black walnut hull · bitter & astringent tradition. Rich in tannins and historically used in bitter and astringent preparations, but strong human clinical evidence for internal medicinal benefits is lacking.
