Wild Indigo Herbal Elixirs
Feverfew has a long history in traditional headache care and is one of the herbs modern researchers have studied in relation to migraine prevention. Results are mixed, which is exactly why we separate herbal tradition from what the research can confidently say.
Ingredients
Feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) and brandy.
Herbal Tradition & Research Notes
Headache & migraine research. Human trials and reviews have examined feverfew for migraine prevention. Some studies report modest changes in migraine frequency, while others do not. Evidence varies by preparation and is not definitive.
Associated symptom research. Some feverfew trials have also tracked symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and light or sound sensitivity. Findings vary, and the research does not support treating every preparation as interchangeable.
Plant chemistry. Feverfew contains sesquiterpene lactones, especially parthenolide, which have been studied for effects on inflammatory signaling and platelet activity. That chemistry is one reason medication interactions and preparation details matter.
