Forest-Grown Native Fruit · Southern Indiana
Pawpaw season is brief, glorious and deeply worth waiting for. Our fruit is gathered from Wild Indigo Forest Farm's woodland orchard beneath the canopy, then packed as frozen golden pulp so this rare native flavor can travel beyond harvest week.
What You Receive
2 lb of Wild Indigo forest-grown pawpaw pulp with a small amount of ascorbic acid added to help preserve its natural color.
What Does Pawpaw Taste Like?
Pawpaw is North America’s largest native fruit, with a naturally creamy texture and a flavor often described as a meeting of banana, mango, melon and vanilla.
Delicious Ways to Use It
- Smoothies and frozen drinks
- Ice cream or sorbet
- Yogurt, oatmeal and chia bowls
- Custards, puddings and chilled desserts
- Sauces, cocktails, beer and spirits
Thawing + Storage
Thaw in the refrigerator and use promptly. Like banana or avocado, pawpaw pulp naturally oxidizes and darkens as it thaws; this color change is normal.
