Raptor Rehabilitation + Release Partnership

Sometimes stewardship means planting habitat. Sometimes it means protecting what is already here. And sometimes it means helping a wild creature find its way home again.

Wild Indigo Forest Farm is proud to partner with Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky, Inc. (RROKI) in support of appropriate release and reintroduction opportunities for rehabilitated birds of prey returning to the wild.

RROKI is a volunteer-based Kentucky organization dedicated to rehabilitating sick, injured, and orphaned raptors. Their work is built around a beautifully simple goal: when a bird can safely return to wild life, give it that chance.

For Wild Indigo, this partnership is especially meaningful. Years before this forest farm existed, Elise volunteered with Raptor Rehab. Seeing the care, patience, skill, and habitat awareness required to return a bird of prey to the wild helped deepen a lifelong commitment to wildlife conservation.

Now that relationship has come full circle. The land that grew from those early influences can participate in the same larger story of recovery, habitat, and return.

Why Release Habitat Matters

A bird that is ready for freedom still needs the right conditions for that next chapter.

Suitable Habitat

Forests, edges, open areas, water, prey, shelter, and species-specific needs all matter when a rehabilitated raptor returns to wild life.

Wildlife First

The purpose is not a visitor attraction or photo opportunity. The purpose is a safe return to the wild, guided by the needs of the bird and the rehabilitation team.

Long-Term Stewardship

Healthy release landscapes depend on the same everyday practices we value across Wild Indigo: habitat protection, biodiversity, clean water, native plants, and room for wildlife to remain wild.

Raptor Rehabilitation of Kentucky, Inc.

RROKI specializes in birds of prey, including hawks, owls, eagles, falcons, vultures, ospreys, and kites. The organization rehabilitates sick, injured, and orphaned raptors and returns releasable birds to the wild.

We are deeply grateful for the people who do this careful work, and honored that Wild Indigo can support the larger cycle of rescue, rehabilitation, habitat, and return.

The Forest Is Shared
