FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my own chef?
YES!
Can guests camp?
YES! May I join?!
Do you provide linens?
For overnight guests, we do! Expect a whole lotta handmade and cozy blankets for the day Retreaters, too!
Can alcohol be served?
BYOB
Is the property exclusive?
Yes and no. We do offer camping & RV sites. However, we are happy to close off the forest to campers! Please note: Depending on when your deposit is paid and contract is signed, campers may have already booked through oir website. We are more than happy to make you aware of any possible guests when you inquire about a date!
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes! However, we are in a forest. Wi-Fi can be spotty based on your device.
How far are hotels?
The closest hotel is 20 minutes away. There are nearby cottages, but Historic Downtown New Albany is where I recommend staying - if not at Wild Indigo! We are more than happy to assist you with a nearby rental.
Is there Parking nearby?
We have multiple lots to accommodate vehicles and a shuttle. Our main lot, at Knob N' Wood Retreat Center, is for Handicapped ♿️ and Mobility Accessibility. This lot fits eight vehicles safely.
Our upper ridge lot holds up to five vehicles and our hidden upper ridge lot holds around six vehicles.
Our bottom of the forest lot, where the property begins, fits two vehicles.
Lastly, we have an overflow lot at the Knobstone Trailhead that fits up to 25 vehicles.
In the coming years, we plan to extend our Retreat lot and add an additional Upper Ridge Lot.
Does the Retreat Center offer Handicap Accessibility?
This may be my favorite YES! Knob N' Wood Retreat Center offers two handicap accessible bathrooms with wheel up to sinks and safety bars. Additionally, the kitchen currently offers a wheel up to sink and oven for cooking demonstrations. If you need additional assistance, we will do EVERYTHING in our power to make the experience as safe and cozy for you!
While many of the forest trails are not wheelchair accessible, we will continue working on grants to fund a wheelchair trail tractor! We live on the second highest knob in Indiana. So, the entire woodland is mostly knobs, with few flat areas.
In the meantime, we have a wheelchair friendly trail from the driveway to get you down to the Yoga and Workshop areas. This Trailhead will also take you on the Ramp Trailhead and throughout our flat Trailhead next to the Daffodil Renewal Labyrinth. Please note: You will need a friend (and we're happy to be just that) to assist you down the Trail from the driveway past the Labryinth. Once there, your incline will diminish.
What is the nearby airport?
While there are smaller airports nearby, the main hub is the Muhammad Ali Airport in Louisville, Kentucky.
What is the distance from Louisville?
Louisville is 25 to 30 minutes from Wild Indigo - depending on traffic.
What is the Pet Policy?
Pets are allowed on a leash when booking pre-approved Campsites and Aura 🌈 Photography.
